David J. Meretta

I concentrate my practice in the areas of employment litigation (discrimination, retaliation, unemployment, wage disputes, severance agreements), franchise and business law, and general civil litigation.

I also have extensive experience in the areas of appellate practice, defamation, consumer protection and lemon law. I have represented franchisees and franchisee associations throughout the country, and both employees and employers in Colorado, Massachusetts and Michigan.

I served as a Topic and Article Editor for the American Bar Association's Franchise Law Journal, a quarterly journal of the Forum on Franchising, from 2011-2013, and have been a member of the ABA's Forum on Franchising since 2004.

I am licensed in Colorado, Massachusetts and Michigan. I received my undergraduate and law school education from the University of Michigan (A.B. with distinction, 1993; J.D., 1996). I clerked for the Hon. Lawrence M. Glazer of the 30th Judicial Circuit Court of Michigan.

I was a 7-year member of the University of Michigan Marching Band Drumline.
